This course taught me about the legal framework for employment law in Canada; employment equity; creating policies; and self-identification questionnaires.

The three assignments in this section are all regarding the same fictional organization that I created, Surge Media.

ASSIGNMENT: EMPLOYMENT EQUITY COMMUNICATION TOOL

Developed an Employment Equity communication tool for a fictional organization. The understanding was that this would be the first communication of any kind on Employment Equity/Diversity in the organization. The type of tool was restricted to only my creativity;therefore, I chose to create a presentation. Because my organization was fictional, I provided background on the size and structure of Surge Media.

Continuing with my fictional organization, Surge Media, in pairs we drafted an Employment Equity/Diversity Policy.

In the same pair, we developed a Self-Identification Questionnaire (SIQ) for the fictional organization, Surge Media. We were to make reference to special accommodations anddescribe the communication techniques and follow-up methods that would be used.
